Sprinkler-soaked drug deal in the backyard

Nothing helps celebrate Life Without Diapers like a generous hit of crack.

Canada Day Potty Training 2012

A most "memorable" Canada Day weekend was had by StranMcCann. Taking advantage of three days off work, Emmett's Mom and Dad decided to use the long weekend to blitz potty training with Emmett. What a weekend. It certainly pales in comparison to Canada Day's gone by [insert sarcasm here], when they used to bike and hike in the mountains and stay up late to watch fireworks. This year, they were chained to the potty, asking Emmett to "Tell us when you have to use the potty, right?"

...and his big boy underwear.
Fortunately, and to the delight of his parents, Emmett caught on quickly, and will head off to daycare showered in praise, bursting with big boy pride and clean underwear.
(As much as they wanted to, his parents have refrained from putting the photo of Emmett's first turd-in-the-potty online. An online turd would probably come back to haunt them, in thousands of dollars of therapy when he is 21).

And the crowd goes wild

Emmett registers his first-ever hat trick when, at 2:30 of the third period, he puts his third puck in the, er, net.

Hi ho, hi ho...

...it's back to work she goes. With her suits a little tight and a babe up at night, hi ho, it's back to work she goes.

Today marks the last day of maternity leave for Emmett's mom.

In order to help her cope with the transition, Emmett planned an action packed day for his mom. He sent her off to get a latte first thing in the morning, followed by some retail therapy at MEC while he was at the daycare for an hour. Lunch was at Rocky's with Auntie Clare,

followed by one of their long walks around the neighbourhood, stopping at the grocery store, the playground, and of course, the swings.

Emmett has made some new friends at daycare, and appears to be unfazed by the latest transition.

Until he realized that someone else would be changing his diaper and wiping his bum.

Nappylanche!

Mom and Dad took Emmett nappy shopping to Babes in Arms and came home with a 36-hour rotation of their new cloth diapering system. Pending a full testing regime by our in-house expert, bumGenius will be in, and Pampers and Huggies will be out.

Upon arriving at home, Mom said to Dad, "I think it's changing time. Wanna put the new diapers on Emmett?"

Dad said, "Sure."
