Camping

Once hard core backcountry campers, Emmett and Oscar's parents are now embracing car camping, as they introduce the next generation to the wonders of sleeping in a tent.

Out. And he slept almost all night, waking once at 4am for a feed, and then to start his day at 6:30am.

Buddy Burger ain't yo friend

Despite struggling through the effects of a hangover after a late-night A&W run, Emmett ekes out some fun at the second annual StranMcCann PaddleFest. The Wagon Wheel-induced spike in blood sugar helps considerably.

Lowering the boom at Boom Lake

On a late-season ski into Boom Lake, Emmett sets the tone for the outing by rolling his chariot into a tree well. Twice. He emerges unscathed.

His mom, on the other hand, rolls her knee into a sun-softened drift and emerges Lady Limps-a-lot with a second degree MCL strain. Emmett's dad, fearing the wrath of Emmett's mom, opts to waive his option to photograph the event.

What better opportunity, though, to share photographic evidence of Uncle Blair's spectacular 2003 crash... ironically, at the exact same spot on the exact same trail.

Candidate for a Pulitzer

Ooh, we almost forgot. During an emergency in-car feeding in Banff, Emmett's dad happens to have his cell phone camera at the ready and with only a split-second warning, achieves photographic near-brilliance.

First night away from home

Every year around this time, Emmett's mom and dad meet his Auntie Clare in Banff for the annual Winterstart road race, a 5 mile night run up Tunnel Mountain. This year, Emmett joined the trio, and stood on the sidelines with his mom, cheering loudly for dad and Auntie Clare. All that night air and cheering meant he slept soundly during his first night away from home, in an unfamiliar hotel room. Of course, hanging out with Auntie Clare helped to ease the transition... she allowed him to spit up all over the hotel bedsheets.
