Lemonade For Sale

After raking in almost $50 at the inaugural StranMcCann Lemonade Sale, Emmett's mom remains torn on what led to the stand's roaring one-day success. It was either the unanticipated investments from a couple of passerby venture capitalists, or it was the fact that Emmett told customers he was raising money to help his poor little brother who can't walk.

Nine Months Old

Germany faces Argentina in the championship match for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The Nathan O'Brien Amber Alert continues as police continue their investigation into the disappearance of the five year old and his grandparents. Craft beer breweries are straining the Vancouver sewage system. It's day seven of the 102nd Calgary Stampede, and the city smells of pancakes, deep fried food and alcohol. Greenpeace is stepping up its campaign to get Lego to end its licensing partnership with Shell to make toys carrying the oil giant's logo, releasing a video parody of The Lego Movie song Everything is Awesome. And Oscar celebrates his nine month birthday.

Stampede Part One - Parade Day

Thanks to Daddy running chairs down to the parade route the night before, AND getting up at 5am to secure the seats, Emmett and Oscar enjoyed front row seats at the Stampede parade with Cousin Heather, who was visiting just for Stampede shenanigans.
A very serious cowboy checking out the floats.

Gilmore Junio and Denny Morrison as honorary parade marshalls.

Oscar, duly impressed by the event.

Since 2001 the Roads Maintenance Critters have been cleaning up along the Calgary Stampede Parade route. Now, after 13 years of service, Dixie, Samson, Rocky and Alfalfa are hanging up their cowboy hats and heading for greener pastures.

The Critters were created by a local puppeteer back in 2001 and have been placed on a street sweeper every year during the Calgary Stampede Parade to clean up after horses and humans along the parade route. - See more at: http://www.calgarycitynews.com/2014/07/farewell-critters-calgary-stampede.html#sthash.0f5APNvh.dpuf

Stampede Fashion Not.

Army vehicle, just before Emmett and Oscar's Dad begged the drivers to do a donut in the middle of the street.

Happy Canada Day!

Happy Birthday Canada!
Hard to believe that two years ago, Emmett and his parents spent the Canada Day weekend potty training. This year, they marked Canada's birthday with a camping trip, and a neighbourhood happy hour in the backyard. Oscar wooed all the ladies...
