Where has the time gone?

An active three and a half year old, two working parents, and an evening obsession with their iPhones means the blog has been neglected for the past two months! Below, a random selection of what StranMcCann has been up to since the last post back on March 6th...

 A visit from Gramma and Poppa in early March, complete with a trip to the BIG ROCK just south of the city. (The BIG ROCK travelled down from Jasper on a glacier, and inspired the name for the BIG ROCK Brewery).

 

Time with cousins when Uncle John, Laura and Erin came out during March Break for a ski holiday.

 Easter egg Hunt. Nuff said. We are still eating Jelly Beans...one by one. Fortunately, Emmett has forgotten about them.

Chocolate-fuelled etiquette malfunction

When a commoner pays a visit to a castle in the mountains for Easter, it is prudent to conduct oneself in a manner befitting one's surroundings.

1. Sit up straight,

2. Don't slouch,

3. And, most importantly, refrain from dragging oneself prostrate across the wildlife-themed broadloom endeavouring to facilitate high-pitched communication between stylized grizzly bears and a Thomas the Tank Engine pez dispenser.

News from the animal kingdom

Emmett's dad has been aching for an excuse to share a couple of his favourite news stories from New Zealand, and finally found one.

Big news in early April from Alexandra: the Great Easter Bunny Hunt, giving nightmares to chocolate-loving Kiwi children since 1991.

Then, a week later in New Plymouth, a story about a spraypainted goat. Believe it or not, this made national headlines.

And right here at home, just today, Emmettilius stranmccannii has at long last cut his first tooth. Not bad for a creature who started showing symptoms of teething, like, three months ago.
