Lasagna

In an attempt to help ease the post vacation blues of Emmett's dad, Emmett's mom made his favourite dish for supper last night. Lasagna. Turns out, Emmett has the same insatiable appetite for lasagna as his dad does. Excited to discover a dish that Emmett really enjoys, Emmett's mom served him leftovers for lunch today. All was going well until, in a momentary lapse of judgment, she let Emmett try to feed himself.

Fortunately, none of the lasagna ended up on the floor. Only in Emmett's hair. Which is when they discovered that lasagna makes a great hair styling product.

Post New Zealand Blues, Remedy #3

No blue skies in Emmett's neighbourhood today. The temperature plummeted and the snow continues to fall. This snow storm in May is great for the farmers, but brutal for those who want to play outside in the spring sunshine. Each member of StranMcCann tries to find a way to deal with the winter weather and PNZB. Emmett's dad bakes banana bread, while Emmett and his mom discover the wonders of Baby Einstein and look at their travel photos. It doesn't seem like that long ago they were walking along the wharf in Wellington...

"If this storm continues", Emmett's mom was heard to say today, "we'll have to plan another holiday". Emmett thought that was a great idea.

Two reasons to celebrate

Emmett showed little interest in the chocolate zucchini cake his dad baked today, but that didn't diminish two momentous occasions worthy of celebration: The one-week anniversary of his birth, and the triumphant return of his mom's ankles after several weeks on hiatus.
